We realize how many food allergy families struggle with safe ingredients.

Everyone should enjoy baking, that's why every recipe shows alternate ingredients and methods for gluten free, nut free, plant-based and sugar free.

Recommended food allergy substitutions:

Wheat flour- Pillsbury All Purpose Gluten Free Flour or Petley Grain All Purpose Gluten Free Flour (online at azurestandard.com)

Butter- Vegetable shortening, coconut butter, banana, pumpkin or avocado puree

Egg- Applesauce, Aquafaba (syrup from canned beans), Flax egg (1tsp ground flax seed to 3 tsp water), mashed banana

Milk- Soy milk, coconut milk, nut or rice or oat milk 

Chocolate chips- Enjoy Life chips, Nestle Simply Delicious

Peanut Butter- Sunflower Butter (seeds) or Wow Butter (soy)

Banana Bread

Yield: 8-10 slices

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups All Purpose flour

  • 1 tsp Baking Soda

  • 1/4 tsp Salt

  • 1 stick butter

  • 1 cup brown sugar

  • 2 eggs, room temperature

  • 2-3 ripe bananas, the browner the better

  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • (Optional) Add ins-

1/2 c Chocolate chips or nuts

Cookies 'n Cream Bars

Yield: 20 bars

Ingredients:

  • 22 Chocolate Sandwich Cookies

ALT Gluten free chocolate sandwich cookies

  • 1 tablespoon butter

  • 1 (10- ounce) bag mini marshmallows

  • 9x9 baking pan

Chocolate Cupcakes

Yield: 12 cupcakes

Cake Ingredients:

  • 2 c All Purpose Flour

  • 1/2 cup Cocoa Powder 

  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder

  • 1/2 tsp Salt

  • 2 eggs or 1/2 cup subst.

  • 1 1/2 cup water

  • 1 tbsp Vanilla Extract

  • 3 tbsp Vegetable Oil

  • 1/4 tsp White Vinegar

American Buttercream

Tools:

Cakepops

Yield: 10-20 cakepops

Cake Ingredients:

  • Cupcake or cake

  • 1 lb coating chocolate, wafers or almond bark

  • 10-20 Cake pop sticks

  • Parchment or wax paper

Featherlight

Scones

Yield: 8 scones

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 c all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 tbsp baking powder

  • 1/4 tsp baking soda

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) cold butter, cubed

  • 1/2 egg (white or yolk)

  • 1/2 c vanilla yogurt or sour cream

  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 2 teaspoons milk

  • 1 tbsp gran sugar

Flavor options

  • Savory- 1/4- 1/2 c cheddar cheese 

  • Sweet- 1/4- 1/2c fruit jam or citrus, berries, or chocolate chips

Flourless Monster Cookie Bars

Yield: 24 bars

Ingredients:

  • 1/2c softened butter

  • 1 c brown sugar

  • 1 c granulated sugar

  • 1.5c creamy peanut butter

  • 3 eggs

  • 1 Tbsp vanilla

  • 2.5 c old fashioned oats

  • 2 c quick oats

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • .5 tsp salt

  • 1.5 c mini m&ms plus 1 c mini choco chip

Shortbread Cookies

Yield: 24 cookies

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 c. unsalted butter softened

  • 1 c granulated sugar

  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • 3 1/2 c. all purpose flour (or gluten free flour)

  • 1/4 tsp salt

Cookie Glaze:

  • 3/4 lb confectioners sugar

  • 1-2 tbsp milk

Coconut Macaroons

Yield: 20 cookies

Ingredients:

  • 4 large egg whites

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1/2 tsp almond extract

  • 14-oz or 4 cups sweetened shredded coconut

  • opt Green food color

CocoNOT allergy ALT-

  • 4 cups Instant mashed Potato flakes

  • 1 Stick butter

  • 1/4 c sugar

  • 1 tsp coconut extract

Add in options:

  • 4oz semi-sweet chocolate chips

  • Food color

  • On top; jelly beans or pastel m&ms

Basics

American Buttercream

Yield: 1.5 lb frosting
